Marine Serre

Para One has scored Marine Serre’s shows for years. He spent seven years making SPECTRE in three parts: an album called Machines of Loving Grace, his first feature film, Sanity, Madness & the Family, and a live audiovisual show called Operation of the Machine. He built the record out of trips to Bali, Japan and Bulgaria, and the field recordings keep colliding with the electronics instead of sitting under them.

The Spectre Tapes is his own playlist around it. It opens on Actress’s remix of Shin Sekai, the track that stacks Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares over KODO drums recorded on Sado island and a violin line from Arthur Simonini. Kraftwerk, Cybotron, Der Zyklus and Anthony Rother follow.
