A.P.C. Music

Paris

There is a recording studio inside A.P.C.’s Rue Madame headquarters, and Jean Touitou has been inviting musicians into it for over thirty years. Thirty-three albums have come out under the A.P.C. name, from A.P.C. Tracks Vol I to Canada and Boniche Dub. Bryan Adams, Jarvis Cocker, Jonathan Richman, Bill Laswell and Hiroshi Fujiwara have all worked there. Touitou keeps the two halves of the company apart on purpose; he has called the much-cited link between fashion and music an illusion.

Alongside the records, A.P.C. publishes thirteen playlists of Touitou’s own listening. This one runs from a Beatles instrumental take of Revolution through Kanye West, Missy Elliott and Lou Reed to Fats Domino, Blind Willie McTell and John Lee Hooker.
